In regards to the Kingpin Event, the confusion around the relationship of Control and Victory Points (VP) is an issue that the team was made aware of shortly into the event and are discussing ways to simplify this during the next Kingpin Event. For reference:
- Control is the total amount of time your team held the Kingpin as the last team to attack it.
ex: Kingpin was contested for 10m, your team hit it last, and with no additional attacks to it for 2m = 20% control.
- A maximum multiplier of 2x is applied to VP based on control percentage.
- Glory Rank is based on the raw amount of Glory earned by your team from attacking the Poacher.
More Victory Points but less Control?
One particularly confusing scenario is if a team fiercely attacked a Kingpin in a short period of time, earning a lot of Glory to claim a lot VP for the top Glory Rank spot, but then ignored the Kingpin afterwards. During this time, an enemy Team could swoop in and make a few attacks on the Kingpin for not as much Glory, but wrest control of the Kingpin. The original team does not return to the Kingpin for some time, resulting in the second team accumulating control, but by not attacking the Kingpin, they don't catch up in the Glory category. I hope this helps clear things up! We'll be trying to improve the UI for this in future events to make it easier to understand these scenarios as well.
